The Saba Saba protests in Lodwar town were disrupted by police who lobbed tear gas to disperse the crowds. Protesters marched along the streets of Lodwar while carrying placards that aired their grievances of high cost of living. Three protesters; Ekaale Epakan, Joseph Eagan and Benard Kerio  were arrested by the police during the protest. Other Human Rights Defenders led by Lokopirr Joseph and Ikal Angeley mounted pressure  on the police and demanded for the unconditional release of the three HRDs.

Defenders Coalition, an organisation that focuses on the safety of  Human Rights Defenders, paid the cash bail of the three HRDs to secure their release.
