Four protesters were shot dead while several injured during a protest held along the Isebania boarder. The protest was held due to the rising cases of insecurity at the Isebania boarder. The shooting occurred when the police was dispersing the crowds who were allegedly trying to torch the Isebania Police station.
In recent developments following the protests, Interior Cabinet Secretary, Kithure Kindiki transferred all police officers stationed at the boarder at the time of the protests stating that these transfers will enable the government to have in-depth investigations on the killing of the four protesters. The Cabinet Secretary sent his condolences to the families who lost their loved ones at the hands of the police during the incident and made a commitment to hold account those responsible.
