On the 15th November 2022, The Taita Taveta County Budget Champion and Uraia Trust in Partnership with St. Philips ACK Church Bungule held a community sensitisation meeting at Bungule in Kasighau ward with the help of Rev. Mark M. Kithokilo . This was a ‘pre-CIDP’ engagement meeting done to the community for them to understand the importance of the CIDP. The meeting also aimed at collecting views from the community that will be captured in a memo that will be presented to the County Government during the CIDP public engagements spearheaded by the County Government. Residents of Bungule have to go to Rukanga for public participation meetings, meaning that most of the times their views are left out because of the distance.
The community came up with priority sectors and projects that should be included in the CIDP III. These will be collected and presented to the county government in a memorandum during the government’s CIDP public engagements.
The County Intergrated Development Plan (CIDP) is a document that guides the County’s Development for five years. It forms a critical base on development priorities that inform other decisions in the budget process.
