On 25th August 2021, a man was allegedly shot dead by the police who were dispersing a protest in Kahawa west, Kiambu County where protestors demonstrated against the demolition of trader’s stalls by the Nairobi Metropolitan Service without a prior eviction notice. The protesters lit bonfires and blocked roads leading to the area.
