CIVICÂ SPACE REPOSITORY
Civic Space Repository
CFF monitors and tracks the implementation and realization of the 10 civil liberties, including freedom of association, freedom of expression, freedom of the media, freedom of conscience, religion, belief, and opinion, freedom of movement and residence, the right of access to information, freedom of assembly, demonstration, picketing, and petition, freedom and security of the person, equality and freedom from discrimination, and the right to privacy.
CFF continuously runs a digital civic freedoms monitor, tracking all civil liberty violations across the forty-seven counties. Every year, CFF develops and releases a Civic Space Index that shows the progress made by the country towards the realization of civic freedoms. The Civic Space Index reports are launched during the Annual Civic Space Summit. Additionally, the Annual Summit acts as a learning forum for all civic space actors, both locally and internationally, and serves as a platform to hold state agencies accountable.
CFF also develops an Annual State of the Sector Report to complement the government’s report, demonstrating the contributions of civil society organizations to the national economy. The forum collects, analyzes, stores, and disseminates information on civil liberties from its members and acts as a repository for data on the civic space in Kenya.
Objective: To provide a joint repository of data
and information on civic space issues.
